When we go on vacation, my husband and I love to stay at resort hotels. I love the way we are treated, and all of the great amenities you can find at a resort. I especially love the pool and beach settings. You know I love summer, and that means swimming and lounging on the beach or poolside. Wouldn’t it be great if you could feel the same way you do at a resort pool when lounging by the pool in your backyard? It is a lot easier (and less expensive) than you would think! Here are some ways you can turn your pool into a resort retreat.
Comfy poolside seating
When you are lounging by the pool, there is nothing worse than sitting on a hard chair or a chaise that leaves strappy lines on your back! If you purchase inexpensive seating, make sure you invest a bit of money in some comfortable cushions and fluffy pillows. All resort pools have great lounge chairs and some even have seating that looks like an outdoor bed.
Don’t like the lounge chair idea? Get a nice hammock for laying by the pool. There are some really nice hammocks that don’t need to be tied to trees. These stand-alone hammocks aren’t very expensive. Make sure to purchase one that isn’t a rope hammock. They can be really uncomfortable when wearing a bathing suit!
Another way to make your poolside lounging as comfortable as possible is to make sure you have numerous towels and blankets available. After you get out of the pool, a nice warm towel is a definite plus. Don’t get the dollar store towels. Invest a little money in thick beach towels and lightweight blankets to throw on when it starts to get cooler.
Having guests over? Fold or roll up a blanket and a beach towel and place it at the bottom of each lounge chair. This will really make it seem like a resort setting! If you really want to impress, have a few bathrobes available nearby. Throw one on when you get out of the pool and you will feel like you are relaxing at a spa.
Relaxing in-pool seating
One of my favorite ways to relax at the pool is to float in the water. If you’ve ever used a float in the pool, you know that they are not all created equal. My new favorite? The SwimWays Spring Float Recliner. Why is it my favorite? It is like sitting in a recliner in your living room but you are in the pool! That is because it has a backrest, headrest, ottoman and even has a cup holder. Awesome, right?
If you don’t have a ton of room to store pool toys and floats, this is the float for you. As you can see in the left photo below it condenses down into a small circle and is easy to carry by the handle. It is also really easy to open up and inflate. It has patented Inner Spring Technology that allows it to “spring” open to full-size. Then you just inflate the main section and the separate but attached ottoman and you are ready to go!
I really like that it has a mesh seat. It keeps me comfortable in the recliner… no butt falling through! And the best part? You can buy it at Walmart. You know how much I love Walmart!
Once you add comfortable seating, linens, and a SwimWays Spring Float Recliner, your home pool will feel like a resort retreat that you and guests will really enjoy.
