Last month I introduced you to Hood Calorie Countdown; my new favorite keto friendly milk substitute. Dan and I have been drinking it ever since, and I have been trying it in some ketogenic recipes to see how well it works. The results? It is awesome! You can use your favorite variety of Hood Calorie Countdown in place of milk (regular, almond, soy, etc.) in your favorite recipes and reduce the number of carbs dramatically! That is what I did for these low carb blueberry pancakes and they are so good.
Since the beginning of the year, I have been following a low carb ketogenic diet and it has been going pretty well. I have lost 15 pounds and have kept it off for a few months now. As with any diet, it definitely takes some getting used to. When I first started out, one of the hardest things for me to give up was milk (especially chocolate milk). Did you know that one cup of whole milk has about 12 grams of carbs and 12 grams of sugar? This definitely means that milk is not a keto friendly drink!
