When it comes to the health and well-being of our furbaby, Honey, there isn’t much my husband and I wouldn’t do to make sure she is happy and healthy. Often times this means spending a small fortune on the best that money can buy for her. For example, we are about to spend around $1000 to have the vet remove a growth on her ear and clean her teeth while she is under anesthesia. Some people may think we are crazy, but she is our baby and we have her best interest in mind.
If you’ve never taken your dog to PetSmart® before, you need to do it. Honey has so much fun whenever we go. So many great smells and so many new friends to make. Plus they have everything you need for your dog.
It has been above 90 degrees all week and doesn’t look like it will cool down any time soon. We are fortunate enough to have air conditioning in our home, so we are pretty comfortable indoors. However, we can’t stay inside all day. Our beagle, Honey, won’t allow that! She loves to be outdoors and is up for a walk anytime we are willing to take her. It is one of her favorite things to do (right after eating and sleeping). With all of this heat, she starts panting in no time at all. When we come home from our walks, she guzzles down water and then sprawls belly-down on the wood floor near an air conditioning vent.
Who can resist melting when looking into the eyes of a puppy? I know I couldn’t. Just look at Honey when I first brought her home. How sweet is that face? And those tiny nails? How about that cow belly? She really was just the cutest thing I had ever seen.
Then came bedtime.
Our beagle, Honey, is like our child. We hug her, kiss her, snuggle with her and know that she gives us unconditional love in return. The love of a dog is a wonderful thing. However, there are times when I just don’t want to be around her. Why? Because she smells. I’m not talking about the normal dog smell; all dog owners love that smell. I am talking about when she stinks to high heaven.
I’ve written before about how having a dog can come with a messy and smelly price. However, I truly feel that our house wouldn’t be a home without Honey, our beagle. Since we don’t plan on having children, Honey is like our child. This means that when she is sick or hurt, we care and […]

This post is sponsored by Nature’s Recipe®. All opinions are 100% my own. Our beagle, Honey, is 7.5 years old and has settled down quite a bit the past few years. She mainly sleeps during the day, only rousing at feeding times. However, if you say the words “walk” or “outside” anywhere near her, she […]
