Welcome to week nine of the Saturday Spark! Hopefully you will take the challenge and let everyone know how it is going in the comments section below.
Last Week’s Challenge
So, how did everyone do with the week 8 challenge – Remember Your Wedding Day? Did you and your spouse take the challenge? My husband and I went through our wedding album together this week. It was fun remembering the day together. It is crazy that each of us remembered different moments. How about you?
This Week’s Challenge – Let Me Count the Ways
This week’s challenge is (as you may have guessed) based on the poem below by Elizabeth Barrett Browning:
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with a passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, — I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! — and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
This sonnet was written for her soon-to-be husband to show how much she loved him. As you can see, writing can be a wonderful way of showing your love for your spouse.
The 03.31.2012 Challenge
Your challenge this week is to make a list of the ways you love your spouse, or the reasons why you love your spouse and share it with him/her.
Have fun with this, and let us know how it goes – write a comment below or blog about your week and include your link in your comment (feel free to use the button above on your blog with a link back to this post).
Do you have an idea for a Saturday Spark Challenge? Let me know.
