Saving money will never go out of style. It’s okay to embrace a frugal lifestyle, especially with a tough economy. It does not matter how much money you have, saving money will always feel good at the end of the day. There are so many opportunities out there for you to save one dollar or several dollars. For all the money you saved, you can use it to pay off bills and other necessities. Here are some ways to save money easily.
Download savings apps
Saving applications are free and act as virtual coupons. You can save money on anything from massages, gym memberships, restaurants, and even concerts. These applications include Groupon, Living Social, Seize the Deal, and several more. The apps send you daily notifications through your phone reminding you of deals. If you don’t want the notifications going to your phone, you can have them sent directly to your email. By the way, all of these deals will save you at least 50%. Another great part about these services, they are free to use!
Cutting coupons may seem old fashioned, but it still can save you lots of money. Have you ever watched Extreme Couponing? The shoppers in the show are a bit obsessive, but they save a lot of money. If you know you are going grocery shopping, and have coupons lying around your house or a family members’ house, skim through them. Otherwise, hit up Google for some great coupon sites. The downside to getting your coupons online is that you need a printer, and it may take up more of your time (and printer ink).
Follow brands and companies on social media
Following companies on all of your social media account gets you access to surprise sales. Whether it’s a clothing company or a brand of detergent, these pages can hook you up with coupons, deals, contests and free stuff. Foursquare offers great nearby deals by using the GPS on your phone. Facebook pages and Twitter pages are also good for tracking down deals. In addition, there are coupon searchers (and bloggers) that you can follow.
Other social media websites to check into are Google+ and Pinterest. Pinterest company pages often feature “flash sales” for their products or contests. With Google+ still on the rise, contests are much easier to win than they are on Facebook. Check out the sites and follow them all!
