Most people believe that a proper diet and routine exercise are the only two components necessary for maintaining good health. Regular exposure to adequate sunlight is an often-overlooked requirement for those who want to stay in peak physical and mental health.
Sunlight is the body’s main source of vitamin D. This vitamin is critical for regulating the immune system, preventing disease, and improving mood. Many who live in areas of the world with very little exposure to sunlight or who simply don’t venture outside are often diagnosed with physical and mental conditions related to vitamin D deficiency. Although dietary supplements may help to mitigate the deficiency, adequate sunlight exposure is the most effective way to prevent these conditions. Check out this infographic to see how much sunlight exposure is right for you.

If you click on it, it will open the infographic in a new window. It may still look small in the new window, but if you hover over it with your mouse you will see a + symbol. Just click again and it will enlarge.
