This post about how to cover gray roots between colorings was sponsored by Gray Away as part of an Influencer Activation. All opinions expressed in my post are my own.
When I was a teenager working at a retirement home after school, I saw elderly women who had their hair dyed on a regular basis. I never understood why and told everyone who would listen that I wasn’t going to do that when my hair turned gray. I was going to let it grow and proudly wear my beautiful long silver hair.
Fast forward to 5 years ago and I started to see a few gray hairs. At first, it didn’t bother me because I could part my hair on the opposite side and it was covered. Plus, I got my hair highlighted and it would blend in nicely.
Then the patch of gray got a bit bigger. If you look at the before photo above, you can see that the patch is located where my hairline naturally recedes. The lighter gray color only makes it look like my hairline is receding further than it really is!
Not good! Where is the beautiful long silver hair I swore I would proudly wear? This was when I decided to start having all of my hair dyed instead of just getting highlights. This was definitely better, but as it starts growing back in, my hairline starts to look like it is receding again.
Gray Away to the rescue
Between colorings, I’ve found the easiest way to cover my gray roots is to use the Gray Away Temporary Root Concealer Spray I picked up at ULTA Beauty. With a few sprays, the gray hairs are covered and my hairline looks normal again. It dries quickly, and I am out the door and on with my day!
I really don’t have time (or money) to get my hair dyed more often, so the Temporary Root Concealer Spray is such a great alternative. I really like how easily it blends in and looks so natural.
I also have some sporadic gray hairs starting to sprout around the top of my forehead. For these grays, I use the Gray Away Root Touch-Up Quick Stick. It has two ends: one end is an angled applicator that makes it easy to apply and the other end is a sponge tip to help blend the color after application.
Both the Temporary Root Concealer Spray and the Root Touch-Up Quick Stick are easy to use and last! No worries about it running down your face if you get stuck in the rain or wiping off when your sweetie runs his fingers through your hair. Awesome, right?
At some point in my life, I may proudly wear my long silver hair. Until then, I’m happy that Gray Away makes covering my gray roots so easy.
It is inevitable. At some point, your hair is going to start to gray. When it does, pick up some Gray Away online, or at your local ULTA Beauty. It is definitely the easiest way to cover gray roots between colorings. You won’t regret it!
