As Sharon mentioned a week or so ago, Real Life Deals is now under new ownership! First, I would like to apologize for the site being down for a few days… who knew there was so much to do when moving a blog to new hosting? As you can see, it is now back up and running and I am excited to get started.
A bit about me
Look! It is me ^^^My name is Stacey Werner and I have been blogging since September 2011. I started blogging because I was looking for a way to fill my time and to learn new things. I had heard of blogging before, but had never even really read one. However, I was quite familiar with websites since I am a web designer/developer. Right now I work part-time as a social media coordinator at a local business and I blog at Newlywed Survival.
In March 2010, I left my full-time job and found that I needed to start saving money so my husband and I could live on just his salary until I figured out what to do next. This is when my love of finding deals started. In the beginning, I tried the whole extreme couponing thing but quickly found out that I was not cutout for that – I still love coupons, but I don’t buy multiple papers or have (as big of) a stockpile. Instead, I started searching for ways to save money online. I found so many great ideas and constantly surprise my husband with things I have purchased at low to no cost.
Why the new blog?
Great question… thank you for asking! I love blogging at Newlywed Survival, however, I knew I wanted to share more about ways to save and make money. Newlywed Survival just didn’t seem like the best place to do it. I do have sections about saving money and budgeting (a big concern for newlyweds), but these topics didn’t seem to be the ones that my readers were most interested in reading.
Then came Sharon’s announcement that she was going to be giving up her Real Life Deals blog. This couldn’t have come at a better time for me, and I quickly jumped on the chance to take it over. As you all know, Sharon is a really sweet person and working with her through the process was great. You may even see a post from her sometime soon about how to sell your blog! I’ll let you know when she has it up.
Where does Real Life Deals go from here?
Another great question… you are full of them aren’t you? Well, that will be up to you. I have a ton of ideas, but none of them will work if they aren’t what you are interested in reading! So, I have created a survey and I hope that you will consider filling it out. I want to know what you would like to see on this blog. What have you enjoyed on the blog? Which of my new ideas would you be interested in reading? I would be so happy if you would take a minute and fill out this survey to help me out. It is anonymous, so please feel free to say what you are thinking.
