Last month I introduced you to Hood Calorie Countdown; my new favorite keto friendly milk substitute. Dan and I have been drinking it ever since, and I have been trying it in some ketogenic recipes to see how well it works. The results? It is awesome! You can use your favorite variety of Hood Calorie Countdown in place of milk (regular, almond, soy, etc.) in your favorite recipes and reduce the number of carbs dramatically! That is what I did for these low carb blueberry pancakes and they are so good.

With their list of zero Points® foods, I have the flexibility to incorporate sweet treats into my day and still reach my goals. Plus, with all of the Weight Watchers approved products available at Walmart, sweet treats like these Berry Cheesecake Thins are easy to make!
One week until Halloween! Do you have your costume picked out? Are you and your spouse dressing up together or did you each pick your own fun outfit to celebrate the day? This year, my husband and I don’t have any costumes. No Halloween parties to attend and I’m not sure if we will be getting any trick-or-treaters. Of course, that doesn’t mean that we can’t enjoy the holiday! We will be watching a scary movie, munching on yummy candy and drinking these Pomegranate S’Cream Sodas – a bloody good treat!
In February I introduced you to the new way we are eating healthier dinners at home: Home Chef! We have enjoyed every single meal we’ve had delivered and love all of the new options they keep adding each week. Plus, they seem to have one of the lowest cost meal plans around. You can read […]
Were you aware that National S’mores Day is coming up soon? Yep, it is celebrated every year on August 10! As I mentioned in my last recipe post, s’mores always make me think of summers when I was growing up. After sharing my Sweet & Salty S’mores Brownies with you, I couldn’t stop thinking about […]
It is funny how food can bring back memories. When I think about summers growing up, I remember ice pops that turned my mouth strange colors and nibbling on those little candy dots attached to a paper strip. You know the ones I’m talking about? You’d bite them off and end up swallowing scraps of paper in the process. But most of all, I think of s’mores. The taste of chocolate and marshmallow always reminds me of summers at my grandparents’ cabin in the Poconos.
The hot July weather is ramping up! I love the summer and really enjoy the warm weather. Of course, that doesn’t mean that I don’t look for ways to cool off. We love going to the pool and our air conditioning is pumping the cool breeze indoors. When we’re outdoors during the day, I like […]
For a special treat, I will make something more than coffee and Dan and I will eat breakfast in the sunroom. We open all of the windows and enjoy the breeze while we eat. Recently I made these awesome grain-free waffles for breakfast in the sunroom. I like making waffles during the warm weather because it doesn’t involve sweating over a hot stove.
Summer is a big party season! Memorial Day is coming up this weekend, then 4th of July, then Labor Day. Plus there are pool parties, block parties and barbecues all summer long. If you throw your own summer party, you definitely need some easy and delicious appetizers to serve your guests.
Who doesn’t love breakfast for dinner? I know we are always ready for some quiche in our house—we’ve had it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! It’s also a great picnic dish partnered with a nice white wine. This quiche is packed with spinach, Italian sausage, and more for a nutritionally full meal. You can make […]
