Today I wanted to put on a necklace that my husband purchased for me when we were first dating. I went to my jewelry case and took out a jumbled mess of necklaces in search of the “You’re special” necklace. Does this jumbled mess sound familiar to you? Well, this motivated me to look for the best ways to organize my jewelry. Of course I went to Pinterest, but I also decided to see if there were some fun alternatives that I didn’t have to make myself. Here is what I found:
DIY hanging jewelry organization
Paint sticks and cup hooks? Who comes up with these ideas? Such a simple organizer! I love this idea because you can customize it to your jewelry. Have a ton of long necklaces, and no bracelets? You can adjust accordingly.
Dual purpose jewelry organizer
I love this idea of an over the door mirror that also serves as a jewelry organizer. The Over the Door Jewelry Armoire Mirror Cabinet in Black is a full length mirror when closed and a jewelry organizer when opened. Reviews say that it holds a ton of jewelry, is easy to assemble, and very sturdy. It also comes in white, cherry, and oak finishes.
Freeze your jewelry?
This is probably my favorite idea. Really cheap and no DIY effort needed! Simply place ice cube trays in the top drawer of your dresser and place your jewelry in each section. This would be a great idea for keeping necklaces from tangling with each other. However, it would be a bit difficult to actually see your jewelry in these little openings; and of course not all jewelry will fit.
Little black dress for jewelry?
Yep, you read that right! Isn’t this Umbra Little Black Dress Hanging Jewelry Organizer awesome? The front has 39 clear pockets for earrings and rings. The back has 24 hook and loop tabs for necklaces and bracelets. Such a great idea, and affordable (only $19)!
What about on vacation?
This Jewelry Roll makes for a great way to travel with your jewelry. It has 1 roll carrier for rings, 3 zippered pockets, and 1 large open compartment. With 21 different fabrics to choose from, everyone should be able to find one they like; especially at a price of only $11.95!
