The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) recommends that adults get 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity every week. That is 2.5 hours every week. Are you getting this aerobic activity in each week? It is actually pretty easy when you consider that brisk walking is a moderate-intensity aerobic activity!
Break up the time
The CDC even goes so far as to say that 10 minutes of aerobic activity at a time is enough. So, can you find 15 times to go for a 10-minute walk during your week? You could go for a 10-minute brisk walk 3 times per day for 5 days during the week. A 10-minute walk after each meal during your work week? Not too difficult to fit in, is it?

I have read that these 10 minute exercises/bursts are equivalent to an hour in the gym. This is especially great for those who do not have a lot of time to exercise.

Walking is truly a wonderful way to get exercise and gently restore the body to good health. Plus, there is so much to see when we walk outdoors.

I do get in quite a bit of exercise. Lately I have been doing yoga twice a week, lap swimming once a week and running 1-2x a week.

I am a long ways from the 150 minutes a week that I should be getting but my goal is to start getting 30 minutes 3 days a week. Thank you for the reminder!

You are welcome, Brandy! It is much easier than you think. Just get yourself out there for a walk and the time will fly by!
