Last year I told you about our Lyve Home and how great it was for backing up all of our photos. Recently they added an awesome new feature called Moments Past and I have really been enjoying it! Before I tell you all about this new feature, let me remind you of what theLyve App is…
The free Lyve app pulls all of your photos and videos together, organizes them into one collection, and gives you instant access anywhere. Just download the app on your phone (Android or iOS) and computer and all of your photos are now accessible through the app. I love it because I always forget to take photos, but my husband takes a ton of them. We both have the app on our phones, so when he takes photos I am able to see them on the Lyve App on my phone. Easy peasy!
What does all of this have to do with our engagement? Read on…
Moments Past with Lyve App
The other day I opened up my Lyve App and saw this photo of our balloon ride in April 2012 at the top of the page in the Moments Past section:

This was our second balloon ride. We decided to go on a second ride not only because it was amazing, but also because the first one was a bit of a whirlwind! Our first balloon ride was in October of 2008, and was the day we got engaged. Seeing the photo from 2012 made me want to go back down memory lane to see the photos from our engagement and tell you the story.
Our engagement story
My birthday is October 22 and in 2008, my boyfriend (soon to be husband), Dan, said he wanted to take me on a hot air balloon ride as a gift. I’d always wanted to go on a hot air balloon, but never had the guts to do it. I was so excited to see what it was like!
On October 11 we called to make sure that the weather was okay to go up and were relieved that they gave us the go ahead… it can take an average of 4 times before you get to go up since the weather can cause so many issues. We got to go the very first time! Looking back now, I see it as a sign of what a wonderful day it was going to be for us.
When we arrived, there were a bunch of people there and two balloons being prepared to go up. I found out that we were going to go in a balloon with just the two of us and the pilot. Awesome! Here we are before we took off:
It was so small! The lift off was just like floating off the ground, and the ride was amazing with beautiful views. The pilot was staying in constant contact with his guys on the ground who were following us in a truck so they could pick us up when we landed. You can’t really plan where you go since you can’t do much in the way of steering the balloon. What I didn’t know was that the pilot was also trying to coordinate a location for the guys to layout a sign. This sign:
When we got to a field, I looked down and saw them laying out a sign. I finally was able to read it, and turned to Dan. He was holding the ring and asked me to marry him. It was a perfect proposal! I get butterflies in my stomach every time I tell the story.
The Lyve App
I love our engagement story, and don’t think about that time as often as I would like. That is why I love the Moments Past feature of the Lyve App. Every time I open the app I see photos of what was happening on that day or week in years past. It is a great way to reminisce.
Want to use the Lyve App for yourself? Just download it on your Android or iOS phone and also on your computer. Open the app and follow the directions. It is really simple. Try it, and take a trip down Memory Lane!
