It is that time of year again – time for chocolate, flowers, jewelry… and cards. Yep, Valentines’ Day is approaching! Right about now you are probably starting to wonder what Valentine’s Day cards you will buy for your kids to hand out at school. Don’t cringe, you won’t have to spend a ton of money on your kid’s Valentines this year. Try making them by hand! It can also be a fun activity if you get the kids involved. Here is a very easy, and very cheap way to make Valentines:
You can purchase scrapbook stickers in the scrapbook section of your local super store (I used monkeys, ladybugs, and fish – $1.00 for each set) or you can buy them online. Try to be creative when purchasing the stickers – have your kids think of fun sayings to go with them. For example: for the fish stickers I chose “You’re a great catch!”
Creating the Valentine’s Day cards:
- Cut a sheet of card stock into four equal sections.
- Place stickers on the cards.
- Add a To/From section for the names with a marker
- Add a fun saying to the card.
