What is the page size of the free photo books? Is it better to put 1image per page? I'm doing one from our family beach trip back in October. I want it to look the best. About how long does it take to get it back?

The book is about 8 x 10. I liked the multiple picture layout much better than the single pic. Since the single picture doesn't stretch to fill the page I thought it just kind of looked lost. It didn't seem to take more than a couple of weeks. Not too bad for free. I did a summer beach book and then one for a series of park trips we did back in Oct. I want to do one for Natalies bday week too. Have fun!

How does this work? I went to the website ( and clicked on the "Make your own HotBook" and nothing happened. At first I thought it was user error, but I tried it on several different computers and my husband even tried it and nothing happens. How do you proceed to make the book work?

On another note — your website is wonderful!

    Hey Jill,
Glad you're liking the blog. Sorry you're having difficulty with the hotprints page. When you clikc on 'make your own hotbook' a new little pop up window should open up in the center of the screen. If nothing is happening, have you checked to see if you have a popup blocker on? There would prob be a yellow bar at the top of the screen that you would have to click on and 'allow'. If it doesn't work there, scroll down and see if the other link for 'make your own hotbook' works. Other than that, I'm not sure why its not working. I use Internet Explorer. What browser do you use?

    Good luck,
Hopefully these tips will help. If not let me know and I'll see if there's any other options.

    Thanks again!

I figured it out (with your help of course)! The trouble was with my internet browser — I had to upgrade to Internet Explorer 8. I ordered by photobook tonight and am looking forward to seeing it! Thank you much.

I've already received 2 and am excited that my 3rd is on it's way. I've done our Beach Vacation, Christmas and Snow. Loving these!

I have done a few of these books from Hotprints. The books are magazine style; stapled with an ad in the middle that I just tore out. Then, I took it to Office Depot. They cut the book and put a clear cover, white back with binding all for less than $5. I then glued the back cover down with the last paper so the mailing address is not shown. When they ship it to you they put it in a clear bag with your address printed on the back of the book. To me, it looked tacky if you were giving the book for a gift.
I hope that makes sense. :)

Makes perfect sense. For the price I think they’re still pretty cool. When I say for ‘gifts’ I guess I’m talking grandparents. They are always thrilled to have pics of the grandkids and don’t mind the address etc. Good point though to note that the address is printed on it. Thanks for the comment :-)
