Recently I told you about some ways you may not have heard about to control your appetite. Well, I have been using the one, Meta Appetite Control, since then and I can tell you that it really works! As someone who works from home, it is really tough for me not to snack all day long […]
Did you know that there is a National Pecan Pie Day? Yep, and it is coming up in a couple weeks: July 12. I love that there are so many fun and unusual holidays year round. Especially when they have to do with food. This gives me permission to eat pecan pie all day if […]
When getting married, everyone knows they are going to share things with their spouse. Money, space, the remote… all common things you prepare to share. However, when I got married, there were some things I didn’t realize I’d be sharing with my husband and this made for some very interesting situations!
Feeling hot, hot, hot… It is in the 90’s here and I don’t want to leave the comfort of my air conditioning! However, I love being outdoors and my dog longs to go for walks. What is a sweaty girl to do? Make sure she has some delicious frozen treats on hand when she comes back […]
Summer is my favorite time of year. I love the warm weather, the clothes, and hanging by the pool. I especially enjoy the parties where I can sip on a summer cocktail and enjoy the sun. Usually, when you go to a summer BBQ, there will be beer, soda, water […]
It has happened to all of us at least once in our lives. Someone calls and says they are going to stop by for a visit—that afternoon. Or you and your friends decide to throw together a last minute party for Memorial Day—and guess what—it will be at your place! Although everyone understands you didn’t have a ton of time to plan, you don’t want to disappoint them. Here are some really easy last minute party tips that will have you looking like you spent days preparing in the kitchen.
At the beginning of the year, my dad and I decided to try the 21 Day Sugar Detox. Why? I know I have an addiction to sugar and I wanted to challenge myself. I didn’t think I could go 2 days without sugar let alone 3 weeks. We did it, and this pancake recipe definitely helped!
Mexican food is a favorite at our house. In fact, I make tacos or quesadillas a few times a month because both my husband and I love them, and they are so easy to make—you know I am all about easy recipes! Ground beef and shredded chicken are my go-to proteins for quesadillas, but recently I decided to shake things up a bit.
When I was growing up, there was nothing better after a full day of sledding and snow fort building than a mug of hot chocolate. My sister and I would come home with frozen fingers and runny noses and stir our hot chocolate with candy canes. I still enjoy hot chocolate on cold winter nights even though I don’t build snow forts anymore.
I have never been one to make recipes with 20 ingredients and spend hours in the kitchen. It just isn’t me, and when I got married, surprisingly, I didn’t suddenly turn into an excellent cook who loves grocery shopping and baking. Who knew that you didn’t turn into Betty Crocker once the wedding band went on and you said ‘I do’? It just doesn’t work that way. This is why when you take a look at my recipes, you will see that many of them have the word ‘easy’ or ‘simple’ in it – because they are! Easy dinner recipes keep me from ordering out for dinner every night or resorting to cereal for dinner.
