In August, my husband and I sold our house and moved in with my parents until we find a new house. It was tough leaving the first home we purchased together, but we knew it was the right move. Although we fell in love with the house the first time we walked through it, we just bought too much of a house. It is just the two of us and Honey, our beagle; we don’t need a 4 bedroom home with a finished basement and huge backyard. So, at the ripe old age of 40 (and 46), we decided to downsize.

Halloween is usually about the costumes and kids for me. Who am I kidding… it is all about the candy! Growing up, I can remember my mom buying candy to pass out to trick-or-treaters and every year she would have to go back out and buy more. She would hide it from us, but she couldn’t hide it from herself. She would slowly eat the candy every time she walked past the hiding place. We are a family of sweet-lovers, and candy is obviously no exception.
Recently, I was looking for a way to spruce up the empty wall above the toilet in the bathroom. I knew I wanted to hang some art, but didn’t have much money to spend. Okay, I had about $10 to spend. Out of sheer desperation and an almost empty wallet, this marble art project was born.
