Sometimes the best gifts are ones that are given for no particular reason – or “just because”. Of course, all this gift giving can get expensive, and you probably want to save the expensive gifts for “real” dates, like birthdays, anniversaries, or holidays. Here are a few just because gifts you can give that won’t break the bank.
Best. Husband. Ever mug* – This is a great gift if you have the best husband ever. He’ll remember how much you love him every time he has a cup of coffee.
My Heart Will Guide You Home pocket compass – This is a simple metal heart…your spouse can keep it in his pocket, in the glove box of his car, or even on his desk at work. It’s a great reminder that you’ll be waiting for him when he gets back. This gift is also extra nice if you’re a military wife and your husband is deployed.
What I Love About You Book – This gift requires a little bit of work on your part, but it’s well worth it. You get a book with fill in the blank prompts, and then you fill in the blanks. It’s a sweet gift that can be read and re-read for years to come in good times and bad times. If you have children, they’ll probably want to read and cherish it too someday.
World’s Greatest Husband Water Bottle – if your husband plays sports, goes to the gym, or just drinks a lot of water, this is a sweet gift that will make him think of you every time he uses it.
Romantic Envelope Keychain – This is a his and hers key chain set that ensures that you have a “love note” from each other at all times.
We Were Meant To Be Poem – If your husband is on the sentimental side, he’s sure to appreciate this poem that simply states that he was a gift from above.
Don’t count out homemade gifts either. Some of the most loving gifts can’t be purchased in the store. Make him breakfast in bed, paint him a picture, cook his favorite meal for dinner (even if it’s not your favorite), or stick a love note in his lunch. Do whatever you can to make him feel loved and appreciated. Often, marriages suffer because of the pressures of the outside world. The more you can do to make your spouse see how much he means to you, the more likely your marriage will stand the test of time.
Do you give your spouse just because gifts?

I got my husband this book when we were still engaged. Since some of the questions had no answer yet (fave holiday together?? We hadn’t spent all the holidays together yet!), I wrote a note on the inside cover that the contents of the book would continue to grow with our marriage. He was very touched, and now it’s a valentine tradition for me to add more to it every year and set it on his nightstand each valentine morning.
