It seems that celebrities are particularly prone to short marriages. None of the couples on the list came close to reaching their first anniversary. In fact the combined length of all five marriages on this list is only 111 days. Crazy!
Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries
The wounds from this one are still healing. The pair announced that they would be getting divorced on the October 31, 2011, just 72 days after their fairy-tale wedding had taken place.
The marriage wasn’t all bad for Kim as she has been reported to have made an estimated $18 million dollars by selling photo and television rights for the ceremony. Not bad going for 72 days work.
Axl Rose and Erin Everly
Guns N’ Roses front-man Axl Rose got married to Erin Everly a couple of times, but their first wedding in 1990 was annulled just 26 days after the ceremony had taken place. There second marriage lasted a little longer, but was still over in 9 months. Interestingly it is said that Everly inspired Rose to pen ‘Sweet Child Of Mine’, arguably Guns N’ Roses’ biggest hit.
Dennis Rodman and Carmen Electra
Dennis Rodman enjoyed astonishing success in the NBA winning five titles with the Chicago Bulls, but unfortunately his 1998 wedding to Baywatch star Carmen Electra wasn’t quite as fruitful.
There was a media frenzy surrounding the motives for the marriage but the couple claimed their love was real. That is until they decided to get an annulment just 9 days later.
Britney Spears and Jason Alexander
Britney’s marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander in 2004 is the queen of short lived celebrity matrimony. The marriage was annulled just 55 hours after their ceremony in a Las Vegas wedding chapel, which makes it one of the shortest of all time.
The marriage marked the beginning of a very dark period for Britney, but it’s good to see her back as strong as ever. She is now engaged to Jason Trawick and lets hope what will be her third marriage lasts a whole lot longer than two and a half days.
Zsa Zsa Gabor and Felipe de Alba
Britney’s marriage may be the queen but Zsa Zsa Gabor’s betrothal to Mexican actor Felipe de Alba is the king and heavyweight champion all rolled into one. It lasted for less than 24 hours as it became clear that her previous marriage hadn’t been formally ended.
The Hungarian Hollywood star was married nine times in her life, and had a good sense of humor about her active social life. She was once quoted as saying, “I’m a wonderful housekeeper. Every time I leave my man I keep his house”.
