Top 5 Ideas For Your Spare Room

in Creating a Home, Decorating

If you’re lucky enough to have a spare room in your house then chances are it’s just sitting there doing nothing, maybe with a few boxes stored in there, maybe some extra clothes… Well why not breathe some new life back into it? There are plenty of things you can do with the space, but what are the best? Today we’re going to take a look at our top five.

A chill-out room will help your relax 5. The Chill-out Room

If you’ve got a stressful job – or even if you haven’t – the benefits of a spot for relaxing can’t be over stated. If you’ve ever tried chilling out in the lounge – with someone doing the hovering around you, or kids watching the telly, then you know what I’m talking about, it’s not that relaxing. So why not turn your spare room into an oasis of calm? All you need is a few bean-bags, some chilled out posters and a sound system to play relaxing music – maybe a lava lamp or tow – you get the idea. For next to nothing you can feel like you are a million miles away.

Spare room into a library 4. The Library

Come on, you have to admit that having your own library does sound pretty cool? Well if not cool then at least pretty posh! Once the preserve of only the wealthy aristocrats now all you need is a few shelves and a lorry load of books from a closed down book store – you never know you might even learn something! Also don’t forget the chesterfield leather reading chair and optional log fire.

Trampoline in the spare room? 3. The Trampoline Room

Never quite got over the fact that old Billy boy has a bit more cash than you? Well now you can stick it to him by copying one the most talked about aspects of his palatial house. The trick – all you need is a trampoline and a room! So now next time you hear “Did you know Bill Gates’ house has an actual trampoline room?” you can just reply “Yeah – so does mine.”

Nightclub in your spare room 2. The Nightclub

These days the trendiest nightclubs are the coolest – there’s even one in London that’s in an old underground public toilet! So now we’ve established you don’t need space what do you need? Well a music and lighting system is a must and of course some friends to party the night away, so as long as your neighbours are heavy sleepers or even better if you don’t have any neighbours – and you are looking for a cheap place to party at home then this is one choice worth some serious consideration.

Pool table for a game room 1. The Games Room

If the idea of DJing in your spare room seems a bit raucous for you then why not go for something a little more sedate but just as enjoyable? A home games room is becoming a hugely popular way to employ a spare room – and rightly so! The cost of the essentials, such as a pool table and a couple of arcade machines has come down considerably over the last few years and there are a number of companies who can deliver the stuff straight into your soon to be ex-spare room! A great way to entertain your friends whilst making them jealous at the same time!

This list of five cool ways to spice up your home was brought to you by American pool table outfitters Liberty Games the internet’s games room specialists.

Oh how I wish I could have a trampoline room. So awesome! We, however, went with a playroom that really is my chill out room because when the kids are in there I get to chill out!

I’m getting married next August and we’re planning on moving from his one bedroom apartment to a 2 bedroom apartment. While our in-laws used their spare room as a craft room, we will probably be using ours as an office since we’ll both have sales jobs that are largely work-at-home. While I am super grateful for our jobs, we had a fun time figuring out the possibilities for our extra room, and will certainly have our own library and games rooms when we find our first home! Great ideas here, I’m excited I found your site!

I think the office is the best bet when you work from home…no need for a trampoline room while you are working, right? Thanks for stopping by Scarlett Rose!

Oh I want a library so bad, one that looks like some of the ones I’ve pinned on Pinterest. Drool.

This is the first time I’ve heard of a trampoline room but that’s so cool!

Wish I had a spare room…. :(

Everyone can use a chill out room. I wish I had one. All of my rooms are occupied by someone or something that’s not mine.

FUN!! I think everyone should have a life goal of having a trampoline room. I bet there would be fewer wars in this world.
