Are you looking for a neat way to show your wedding or engagement photos? Or do you have old family photos that you would like to display? Here is a really cool (and cheap) idea using mason jars and vegetable oil. Whatever photos you choose, I would make sure that they are black and white to help add to the look.
Wouldn’t these look great in a kitchen? Or on your nightstand as a lovely reminder of a special day?
Wedding Idea: If you haven’t gotten married yet, these would look nice as part of the centerpiece on your wedding reception tables. You could include photos of you and your spouse-to-be throughout the years! Ooh, my wheels are turning now!
How would you use these DIY photo “frames”?

That’s really neat. What happens to the photos if you ever want to remove them from the jar? If you don’t want to ruin the original photo, can you copy the picture and laminate it instead?

This is such a cute and creative idea. What a perfect way to showcase my greatgrandparents vintage photo. Of course, i’ll have to preserve the original copies.
This is SUCH a cute idea!!!

love the idea of vintage photos in mason jars as conversation starters for home decor especially after reading the spooky book Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and the vintage photos in that bestseller

This is truly one of the coolest things I have ever seen… and so simple to do. I can’t wait to try it. I wonder if the oil would eventually eat away at the picture? I don’t think I’d use an original anyway, I’m just curious…
I’m not sure about that Tracy, but you are right…best to use a copy of a photo and not the original just in case.
What a cute idea I will have to make some black and white photos and try it.
I really want to try this thank you for the post this would be awesome as a decoration for pretty much anything
I love this idea! I am thinking about using them as part of my centerpieces at my wedding next year. I am going to put flowers that my fiance has got me over the years in the back that I have saved and dried out. It would be so personal and make amazing house decorations afterwards.
